Animal Rescues after the Faulkner County Tornado

FAULKNER COUNTY, AR – An animal rescue operation is going on amid the tornado recovery mission in Mayflower and Vilonia.

According to a post on the Facebook page of Maumelle Friends of the Animals, there were “lots of animal deaths and injuries. Pets and livestock.” Maumelle Animal Services has been on the scene in both Vilonia and Mayflower to help round up animals who lost their homes on Sunday. Vilonia Animal Control has also been helping locate animals.

Social media posts have reported animal survivors being found with cuts, broken legs and other injuries, some of which will require surgery.

Animal groups say there us a great need for people who can take in/provide a foster home for found animals until they can be reunited with their owners.

The animal photos are just a few of the many affected by the disaster. See the links below for photos of other found or missing animals as well as some information on deceased animals that have been found.
