LITTLE ROCK, AR — The Arkansas Court of Appeals has upheld the firing of a Little Rock police officer who was caught on camera saying a racial slur.

Officer David Edgmon was fired after being recorded using a slur in 2010 when he got upset because he felt someone was blowing marijuana smoke in his face.

The Civil Service Commission gave Edgmon his job back and recommended he be suspended, but after the city appealed that ruling, the circuit court upheld the firing.

From there, Edgmon took the case to the court of appeals, which handed down Monday’s decision.
