(KTAL) – A man and woman are behind bars after drugs were found inside their vehicle in Bowie Co., Texas.
Around 12:05 a.m. Wednesday authorities spotted a green Jeep sitting on the side of Farm to Market 2148.
When Lt. Todd Fore approached the vehicle a woman identified as Brittany McAdams, 25, of Texarkana, Arkansas told him her SUV had overheated and she stopped to let it cool off.
Investigators also noticed a passenger sitting in the backseat who was identified as Cory Young, 39, of Atlanta, Texas.
A warrant check revealed that Young had a felony warrant for Delivery of a Controlled Substance Over Four Grams and Under 200 Grams out of Cass County for his arrest. Once the warrant was confirmed Young was arrested without incident.
A container with marijuana was also discovered after a search of the vehicle.
McAdams claimed ownership of the item and was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Under Two Ounces.
McAdams and Young were transported to the Bi-State Jail.
Lt. Fore checked his backseat after removing Young from his vehicle and found a purple baggy containing methamphetamine where he had been seated.
Young was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Over One Gram and Under Four Grams in addition to his warrant. His bond was set at $30,000.
Bond for McAdams has been set at $5,000.
