LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Lanes of Interstate 630 will be closed this weekend into next week so Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department crews can erect beam girders for the new Baptist Health Drive Bridge over the interstate in Little Rock.

Officials say the westbound outside and center lanes of the highway will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. Fifteen-minute lane closures will be done periodically on the interstate to allow for the girders to be erected over the available travel lanes.

Officials say the number of lanes will shrink from three to one westbound, and those traveling from Baptist Health Drive will have to stop before entering I-630 West.

Motorists traveling on I-630 East shouldn’t be affected by the project, but are urged to use caution.
