ARKADELPHIA, AR – An Arkadelphia police officer is on probation and apologizing after a video surfaced of him cursing and yelling in a public environment.

That language was used by Corporal Coy Hasley, who also serves as a school resource officer.

“It’s an embarrassment to me and it’s an embarrassment to my department,” Hasley said.

Last week, a man who wants to remain nameless walked into the police station to pay a fine.

That’s when he heard something he didn’t expect, “I kept hearing them saying ‘b’ this and ‘f’ this and laughing and a lot of screaming.”

He says the commotion lasted so long he had time to pulled out his phone and press record. Soon after, he posted it on Facebook.

“A lot of people saw it quick,” he said.

When Hasley realized the video had gone viral in Arkadelphia he posted an apology online.

In that video Hasley says, “I’m the one talking in this video and like to apology for my loud and profane language.”

Even now, Hasley seeks forgiveness from the community.

“I was telling a story and never intended for it to be heard, but I was too loud,” Hasley said.

The man who got more than he expected at the station hopes this is a lesson learned.

“If you are professional you [should] be professional all day, not just half the day, or not when you don’t think anyone is watching,” he said.

Hasley says he has talked and apologized to students who saw this video online. Officer Hasley is also under probation for the next six months.
