LITTLE ROCK, AR – Arkansas State Police make the largest single methamphetamine bust in state law enforcement history–discovering 276 pounds of meth valued at an estimated $10 million.
State police say on Monday afternoon, a trooper was patrolling in Lonoke County near Kerr Road and Interstate 40 (eastbound) and noticed a tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder of the highway.
The trooper checked on the driver–Javier Leon-Garcia, 53, of Moreno Valley, California–and was given permission to search the trailer. Meth, in both the liquid and crystal form, was found.
Leon-Garcia faces trafficking a controlled substance charge and is being held in the Lonoke County Jail with no bond.
