Attempted Child Abductions Reported in Northwest Arkansas

HUNTSVILLE, AR – The search continues tonight for two men who tried to kidnap a four-year-old boy in Huntsville.

Captain Joshua Herring says the boy was approached by two men who offered him an ice cream sandwich. The four-year old did the right thing and yelled “No”.

Police say when the two men in a dark blue minivan saw the boys mother come around the corner, they sped off.

“Coming to a small town, where everybody knows everybody so the trust circle is, you know, the city limits basically, but we’ve got to teach our kids, yes they know us, or that person may know you, they’re not our family,” says Captain Joshua Herring.

Herring says fortunately no one has been harmed in these cases, but these situations are reminders for parents to talk to their kids about who they can trust.
