BAXTER COUNTY, AR – A Lakeview man, 22-year-old Garrett Dean Marler is behind bars on several charges related to break-ins and thefts in the area back in June.

The Sheriff’s Office had been investigating three separate incidents reported on June 3rd, June 5th, and June 10th. On June 3rd, a victim reported that an 8 hp Johnson outboard motor valued at $1,100 had been stolen from his river boat.

Investigators found that the motor had been sold to a scrap yard in Mountain Home by Marler. On June 5th, it was reported to the Sheriff’s Office that a summer home had been broken into along with an outbuilding. A golf bag and set of clubs had been stolen that were valued at $1,000.

A bed inside the home was also found to have been slept in, and the shower had been used. Investigators later determined that Marler had been trying to sell the golf clubs at places in Mountain Home and had in fact sold some golf clubs for $70.
