BELLA VISTA, AR (KNWA) – A local woman is being honored for bringing attention to child abuse.
Lindsey VanBlaricom presented Bella Vista Police with items at a City Council meeting Monday night from a memorial she constructed for Isaiah Torres, a 6-year-old young Benton County boy who authorities say died as a result of chronic abuse.
“I needed to see purpose behind this tragedy, because it was a suffering that no child should have to come close to having to endure,” VanBlaricom says.
The display inspired a large response from the community, with people placing more than 1,000 pinwheels at the memorial site honoring Torres.
