BENTONVILLE, AR (KNWA) — The Benton County Sheriff’s Office took a break from fighting crime to make one little boy’s birthday wish come true.
For Caden Worrell’s eighth birthday, his mom wanted to do something extra special.
“His main focus for the last five years has been fire departments, police departments, the sheriff’s department, he has collected all sorts of fire trucks, police cars, Hot Wheels police cars,” said Krystal Worrell, Caden’s mom.
She reached out to the Benton County Sheriffs Office to see if one or maybe two of Caden’s role models could show up for his party, but what she got was so much more.
“We loved the idea, we just didn’t want to make it two deputies though. We wanted to make it as big as we could,” said Deputy Keshia Guyll, Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
About a dozen deputies filled the McDonald’s in Bentonville, some geared up in green vests.
“Those were the sheriff SWAT guys,” said Caden.
“We were just really excited that we were invited,” said Deputy Guyll.
They all helped make Caden’s birthday a day he and his mom will never forget.
“There’s been a lot of happy tears from me because not being able to do a lot for him over the last year, from one birthday to the next, this makes it huge for us,” said Krystal. “Having somebody say ‘hey yeah we can come out and we can help’, makes a big difference.”
