BENTONVILLE, AR (KNWA/FOX24) – Four-legged police officers in Bentonville now have an extra layer of protection when out on patrol.
Bentonville police say Walmart, Sam’s Club and Pet Armor teamed up to donate three bullet and stab-protective K-9 vests, a total of almost $3,000. Many law enforcement agencies do not have the budget to purchase K-9 protective vests because they cost $950 each.
The department’s three K-9 dogs, Tyson, Merlin and Nico, are used for patrol, tracking, drug and explosive detection.
