SPRINGDALE, AR (KNWA) — A local home has been left with a gaping hole after a big rig veered off Interstate 49 and slammed into it.
It happened late Monday night on Falcon Road.
The Springdale Fire Department says the truck veered off the interstate before it ran into the home a quarter of a mile away.
Witnesses say they saw the semi cross over lanes of traffic and run off the road about 800 yards before crashing into the back patio of the house.
The truck took out some trees and fences and almost ended up in a swimming pool.
There’s no word on what caused the driver to leave the interstate.
