LITTLE ROCK, AR – The Big Rock Interchange is just days away from completion. Drivers and businesses nearby are looking forward to the finishing touches.
Equipment like this will soon be gone from the construction site, six years after the project started.
This week crews will be striping and repairing pavement at the interchange. Then the final flyover will finally be cleared to traffic making all lanes open to drivers.
Many of them we spoke with on Monday say the interchange has made their commute easier.
“Whenever they have opened the other two bridges it has helped a lot of traffic,” says driver Sarah Moore.
“Some of them I know and some of them I have to use Google Maps on them and figure out where I’m going,” says Kent Hill.
Businesses nearby say the completion will help reduce some of the congestion caused by the project over the last few years.
