LITTLE ROCK, AR – Bond has been set for a man Little Rock Police say abducted a five-year-old girl from her home, then took her to an abandoned home, and raped her.

DeAngelo Sims, 20, has been booked into the Pulaski County Jail in connection with the crime. He’s charged with aggravated burglary, kidnapping, and rape. His bond was set at $250,000.

Little Rock Police say that the victim’s older sister saw her being taken. She then told her mom about the kidnapping. They both went outside looking for her and that’s when they saw the 5-year-old walking back up the street towards them.

Police say the victim and the suspect both live in the same neighborhood.

“He wasn’t a stranger, he was just someone that lived there and was looking for an opportunity,” said Lieutenant Terry Hastings with the Little Rock Police Department.

Neighbor Sue Walker also has a 5-year-old. She says Sims was in her backyard the day before the crime.
“I told him would you leave us alone? That’s how I met him,” said Walker. “I just hope they lock him up and throw away the key.”

Now police are starting more investigations into whether something like this has happened to other children in the same neighborhood.

This isn’t the first time Sims has been in the Pulaski County Jail. In the last seven months, he’s been arrested and charged with theft by receiving, possession on drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, failure to appear, robbery and theft of property
