Chewed grass, quick feet and blown whistles

These were just a few of the many sights and sounds from my second trip to the J.A. Fair High practice field.

Instead of working with the defense, Coach Harris had me switch sides and work with the offense!

In more detail, I took charge of disguising coverages to help the quarterback.

Last time on the field, I didn’t start out so hot and today was no different.

I kept forgetting the coverages the coaches wanted me to show the players.

Minutes passed, and my memory improved enough to the point where I could coach.

After disguising defenses for the starting offense I got to call out plays and watch them in a scrimmage.

At the end of my coaching day, it was time for evaluations.

“Alright coach I’ve been out here in the heat for over an hour. How did I do?”

“You did great man. You got any eligibility left?”

“I don’t know about that. Maybe when I’m done with the weather forecast.”

“You did a good job man. You really did good throwing there.”
