EL DORADO, Ark. (AP) – The Union County sheriff says no one was injured after an explosion at a chemical plant in El Dorado.
Police say the explosion happened at about 4 a.m. Tuesday at the El Dorado Chemical Company plant. Sheriff Mike McGough says that no one was hurt in the blast.
Police say no chemicals were released and no evacuations have been called.
Residents reporting hearing the explosion from several miles away.
The plant produces concentrated nitric acid, sulfuric acid and weak nitric acid at its El Dorado facility. The chemicals are sold for farming and industrial uses.
