Sunday, members of Riverview Church and New Horizon A.M.E. Church in North Little Rock played Santa. They handed out money to strangers and really put some smiles on some faces.

Greg Stewart received ten dollars cash from the complete strangers.

“I was grateful. I couldn’t believe it. Nothing ever happened to me like that before, and I’m coming out and they’re singing and giving me the ten dollars. I didn’t have a dollar in my pocket,” said Stewart.

After service Sunday, members of the two churches walked around their neighborhood, completing random acts of kindness.

“We wanted to do something. We couldn’t do the $100 bills. We call ourselves the ‘Poor’ Santas,” said Rev. Beverly White.

‘Poor’ Santas with rich hearts donating portions of their salaries to people in increments of ten dollars.

“It makes me feel good. I think it’s wonderful that our church had decided to do this for the people around our community and for people that don’t really have that much for this Christmas,” said ‘Poor’ Santa Angel Pitts.

It caught Stewart’s sister by surprise.

“I was like where is my brother? Where is he? I opened the door, I said he can’t wash the car with the door open,” said Briggette Camp.

Church members want everyone to know this Christmas that you do not need huge numbers to make a big difference in the community.

“We are a small church, but we have a big heart,” says White.

Church members invote you to worship with them every Sunday morning at ten.
