CONWAY, AR — A fundraiser is being planned for the family of a Conway police officer.
Officer Will McGary was killed in 2013 while on duty.
The department is now planning to hold a spaghetti dinner to help his family go to Washington D.C. to witness McGary’s name added to a national memorial honoring police officers killed while serving.
The prices of the meals have special meaning.
“$4.74 for kids 10 and under, adults are 14.74,” Officer Paul Burnett said. “The reason we come up with $14.74 and $4.74 is because Officer McGary’s badge number was 474.”
The event honoring McGary will be Feb. 28.
Call Conway Police at 501-450-6120 for more event information or head here.
