JONESBORO, AR – A Craighead County man is behind bars, accused of trying to kidnap children and impersonating a police officer.
Landon Shawn Morris, 18, of Bono, was arrested on July 24, two days after the incidents reported by the mothers of boys aged 15 and 11.
According to the police report, Morris drove down Gee St. and E. Alpine St. and tried to get the children into his car.
He asked one of them for directions and then asked if they would get into the vehicle and show him how to get to the requested location. The boy was able to run away and report what happened to his mom, who then called police.
