BRYANT, AR – A deadly accident on Interstate 30 is under investigation.
The Arkansas State Police (ASP) says the Thursday morning accident in the eastbound lanes of traffic happened around 8.
Traffic had to be diverted off of I-30 at Reynolds Road (exit 123) as troopers worked the accident scene.
Several hours after the accident, the ASP released more information. The victim is identified as Richard Bredenstein, 21, of Traskwood. The accident report states that he was driving a 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck that ran into the back of a Chevrolet van that had stopped. The impact caused a chain reaction with three other vehicles in front of the van that had also stopped.
The drivers of two of the other vehicles were not injured, but a total of three people in the other two vehicles were hurt, including a 5-year-old child. A passenger in Bredenstein’s vehicle was also injured. There was no further word on any if their conditions.
