POPE COUNTY, AR – A death investigation is underway after a body is found in a vacant field.
In a news release issued Thursday afternoon, the Pope County Sheriff’s Office said the body was found in Appleton just after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The body has been taken to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy and identification.
Deputies say foul play is not suspected in the death.
