LITTLE ROCK, AR – For the first time in weeks, the release of the weekly flu report for Arkansas shows no new deaths.

The Arkansas Department of Health today released the report for the week ending Feb. 14. It shows the same number of deaths (37) for the season that it had reported two days before that.

The ADH also stated that there are no confirmed measles cases in Arkansas. The most recent cases occurred in 2012.

The last time Arkansas had confirmed cases of rubella was in 2000. Currently, there are no confirmed cases of rubella in Arkansas.

Rubella is sometimes called German measles or 3-day measles, but it is not the same virus that causes measles.

The health department says the MMR vaccine protects against three different viruses: (M)easles, (M)umps and (R)ubella.
