LONOKE, AR – Lonoke County Deputies arrested a man Thursday night after they say he attacked his wife, child and mother before stabbing himself in the leg.
Deputies say 22-year-old Joseph Clay Rhodes physically assaulted his wife and mother and picked up his 6-month-old child by the neck and threw the child onto the couch. They say he then stabbed himself in the leg with a knife he had threatened his wife and mother with.
The child and Rhodes’ wife were taken to the hospital to be examined; their condition is not known. The mother, 46-year-old Kelley Palmer, was arrested for outstanding arrest warrants from the England Police Department.
Rhodes was arrested for domestic battery, terroristic threatening, aggravated assault on a family member, endangering the welfare of a minor, false imprisonment, public intoxication and interference with emergency communication.
He is being held with no bond.
