HOT SPRINGS, AR – Friday night, Donald Trump was in the Natural State as the keynote speaker for the Reagan-Rockefeller Dinner hosted by the Republican Party of Arkansas.
A crowd of a little over a thousand gathered in the Hot Springs Convention Center to hear Trump speak.
He railed against politicians on both sides of the isle calling them “stupid” and took particular aim at two presidential front runners, Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton.
Trumps controversial statements on illegal immigration have fueled his rise to the top of Republican polls nationally but tonight, while pointing out the problems posed by illegal immigration, he took a noticeably more consolatory tone saying that he loved the Mexican people and promising to win the Hispanic vote.
During his 45 minute speech and question and answer segment, he repeatedly touted his business acumen saying that would allow him to make the best deals on everything from trade to road and bridge construction.
“The bottom line is that I’m running. I’m going to make this country so strong and you’re going to be so proud of the deals we make and the way — our military, our vets, our health care, we’re gonna make this country great again and we’re gonna have such fun doing it,” he said.
Trump also talked about the deal on Iran’s nuclear program calling it “disgusting.” He also said he wants to end gun-free zones which he partly blames for the shooting of Marines in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The event ended with Trump calling the Hogs. He continues his campaigning in Iowa.
