The end of February is right around the corner, but don’t put away those Winter coats.
A strong Arctic cold front will sweep through the Souteast over the weekend with much below average temperatures for the first week of March. A big area of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere over Alaska will help to force cold, Arctic Air into the deep South by early next week. Temperatures across Arkansas could be more than 20 degrees below average from Sunday into Tuesday of next week. Temperatures could drop into the 10s by Monday and Tuesday mornings. Milder air will likely return by later in the week as the jet stream flattens out.
