ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KOB) – An El Dorado woman accused in New Mexico of trying to poison her ex-husband takes a plea deal for six months jail time.
Police say Lara Mason, 47, was caught while plotting with an undercover officer.
They say she wanted her ex-husband poisoned with ricin and to have drugs planted in his vehicle.
Mason was facing four and a half years on a charge of solicitation for murder, but as part of a deal she pleaded guilty to solicitation to commit drug trafficking and auto burglary.
The solicitation for murder charge was dropped.
Investigators say Mason’s motive involved a custody battle over a child.
