Elderly Woman Says ‘Squatters’ Burglarized Her Home

FAULKNER COUNTY, AR — An elderly woman believes “squatters” stayed in her Faulkner County home while she was sick in the hospital. But, it’s what happened after they left, that has the 87-year-old woman in tears.

The people living in Mary Clark’s home — without her permission — stole just about everything she owned. This happened in April and now Clark’s left with nothing.

She told the reporter, “Everything honey. I don’t have nothing. I have nothing.”

Clark says before the “squatters” left, they ransacked her home stealing anything from jewelry to tools…even her son’s urn and ashes are missing.

She said, “I felt close to him by keeping them. They’re gone. They took everything.”

Clark’s son in law — William Braun — who owns a house next door — says someone burglarized that home as well. He says thousands of dollars worth of items are gone.

Braun said, “A dishwasher, stove, refrigerator…”

Both Clark and Braun filed police reports. So now, it’s just a waiting game.

Clark said, “I hope they get these people and do something with them.”

Both Clark and Braun believe another family member may be responsible for these burglaries. But so far, no arrests have been made. According to the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation is ongoing and they do have persons of interest identified in this case.
