RICH MOUNTAIN, AR — Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas says they are down to approximately 1,340 outages as of Wednesday morning after last week’s winter storm.
Officials with the cooperatives say Rich Mountain has discovered several large pockets of downed power poles in areas that were previously inaccessible due to treacherous road conditions.
Additional crews have been sent to assist in the restoration efforts.
Officials say the cooperatives serve an average of seven members per mile of distribution line, but several of the areas impacted by outages are less-heavily populated.
