HOT SPRINGS, AR – An alleged killer who police say escaped from an Oklahoma jail was caught walking down a central Arkansas street.
Officers say Raymond Stewart, 26, was arrested in Hot Springs Wednesday afternoon around 2.
Stewart escaped from the Bryan County Jail on Oct. 18. On Monday, police sent out a photo warning other precincts.
A Hot Springs detective noticed the clover tattoo on Stewart’s face from the photo and called it in. Shop owners in the area say they’re glad this accused killer is off the street.
“He could have walked into any of these businesses and could have done anything to anyone,” says Restaurant Manager Kevin Bullock.
Stewart is being held at Garland County Detention Center until he can be transported back to southeastern Oklahoma.
