LITTLE ROCK, AR – High temperatures and low humidity are pushing wildfire danger levels to the extreme according to the Arkansas Forestry Commission. The Forestry Commission lists the entire state in the extreme category for wildfire danger.
There are only five counties without burn bans in place: Little River, Sevier, Calhoun, Drew and Desha.
The Forestry Commission is urging everyone to exercise extreme caution and asking people to refrain from using fireworks whether there are bans in place or not. Numerous fireworks displays have been cancelled because of the extreme conditions and private use of fireworks is now banned in most areas of the State.
Forestry Commission crews and local fire departments are facing another tough day of battling blazes around the Arkansas.
Five departments are working a blaze in the East End area on Long Road in central Arkansas. Authorities are recommending residents leave their homes. Northeast Saline Fire Chief Bob Franklin says the Forestry Service estimates over 100 acres have been burned. He says the fire has jumped four roads and described the conditions as similar to what is being experienced in Colorado wildfires.

He also confirms no structures damaged and no injuries. Franklin tells FOX16 News reports of a car fire sparking the blaze are just rumors and not yet confirmed.
