LITTLE ROCK, AR – Governor Asa Hutchinson will hold a news conference at 10:30 Thursday morning in the Governor’s conference room to announce the findings from the Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) review.
The report makes 11 recommendations to improve the child welfare system in the state. Some will require additional financial resources, the majority would not.
Issues cited in the report as contributing to problems within the system include a lack of foster homes available, worker caseloads that are higher than the national average, turnover among staff and the need for additional training – among others.
