PULASKI COUNTY, AR – A fistfight with his 16-year-old son has ended with the arrest of an officer with the Little Rock Police Department.
Details were released this morning about the incident that happened at the home of officer Donald Woods, 51, Sunday morning near Cabot that left him charged with domestic battery, third degree.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies were called to a home on Jack Duncan Rd. around 11 a.m. on July 13.
That’s where they found Woods and his son minutes after the fight had ended.
Woods told them he had gotten into an argument with his son over going to church but everything was “okay now.”
The son told deputies that his dad had started yelling at him about not doing yard work and making up his bed when the argument quickly turned physical.
Woods, his son, wife and a family friend had been sitting in a vehicle when Woods and his son got out and their fight continued in the driveway, according to the report. Mrs. Woods was the one who called 911.
The report noted that Woods was arrested after deputies saw that his son had a ripped t-shirt, an abrasion on his elbow that was bleeding and a cut on one finger that was bleeding, along with a red mark on one side of his neck. He did not need medical attention.
Before Woods was taken into custody, the report noted he was taken to a Little Rock hospital to be checked out due to past medical issues.
