LONOKE COUNTY, Ark. – Flooding problems created by days of steady rain over much of the last month continue in some locations.
In Lonoke County, high water was still covering streets and roads in some areas Thursday morning, including Highway 70.
“It’s getting to where it’s a regular occurrence during these unusual rainfall obviously. During the flooding season it gets up to the shoulder or closer about every year,” says Ray Cates.
The Saline River is also swollen with rain runoff. The river crested Thursday morning at about 22-and-a-half feet.
Our meteorologists say February’s rainfall was one for the record books.
