ATLANTA, GA – Arkansas’ single most wanted fugitive is behind bars after more than three years on the run.
Suspected child rapist Archie Barfield didn’t show up for his court case in December 2008.
Since then, he’s been the U.S. Marshals main target in Little Rock.
Police in Atlanta finally got the cuffs on him last night.
“It’s a huge deal for law enforcement in general, especially when you have a subject who you’re looking for who has prayed upon a child who was helpless,” Kevin Sanders with the U.S. Marshals said. “It’s always a big victory whenever you can bring somebody like that to justice.”
Barfield is currently locked up in Georgia on a long list of charges including forgery and theft.
Eventually, he’ll be extradited back to Pulaski County.
