LITTLE ROCK, AR – Donald Trump tops Mike Huckabee in an Arkansas poll on the Republican side of things in the 2016 presidential race.
The Opinion Savvy survey sponsored by Conway newspaper The Log Cabin Democrat listed 16 of the 17 GOP candidates running for the White House and asked for whom you would vote if the Arkansas primary were held today.
Trump finished first in the poll with 25.5 percent and Huckabee came in second with 21.5 percent of the vote.
Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz and Ben Carson took the third, fourth and fifth slots.
Tonight at 8 on FOX News, 10 of the candidates will participate in a debate. In addition to the five named above, the group includes: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker; Florida Sen. Marco Rubio; Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul; New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie; and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
An NBC News preview report on the debate predicts the night will go well for Huckabee. The article states “If you want to place an early bet on the best performer of the night, Huckabee would be a smart call. He is the only one of the 10 who has actually participated in a presidential debate before. And he was routinely the best performer in the 2007-2008 debates.”
