RUSSELLVILLE, AR – A man is jailed in Pope County after leading law enforcement officers on a chase that ended in Yell County.
It started late Thursday morning after officers with the Russellville Police Department (RPD) responded to a report of a man trying to pass a fraudulent prescription. They arrived just as the suspect was leaving the scene and got behind him on Main Street (U.S. Highway 64) as he headed towards Pottsville.
RPD officers ended their participation in the pursuit as they approached the city limits and after they were joined by deputies with the Pope County Sheriff’s Office and troopers with the Arkansas State Police.
Officers pursuing the suspect reported to dispatch that he was driving recklessly, traveling excessive speeds and was endangering others who were traveling in the area.
