LITTLE ROCK, AR (News release) – Today, Democratic Party of Arkansas Chair Vincent Insalaco announced Hillary Clinton as the special guest for the 2015 DPA Jefferson-Jackson Dinner.
“We are thrilled to have our former first lady, Hillary Clinton, home in Arkansas for this year’s JJ Dinner,” Insalaco said. “As Arkansas’s first lady, Hillary worked tirelessly to secure a better future for our children and families – a responsibility that she continued as the First Lady of the United States, a U.S. Senator, and as Secretary of State. We are excited to welcome her to an Arkansas homecoming that celebrates both that progress and looks towards a hopeful future.”
Hillary Clinton moved to Arkansas shortly after serving as an attorney for the Congressional Committee that investigated Richard Nixon. Clinton taught law students at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, home of the Razorbacks, before marrying her husband, Bill Clinton, who became Arkansas’s governor and later, the President of the United States. During her time as Arkansas’s First Lady, Hillary Clinton co-founded Arkansas Advocates for Children & Families, and she led multiple campaigns to improve children’s health and education in Arkansas.
The 2015 JJ Dinner will be held on Saturday, July 18 at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock. Those interested in sponsorship and ticket information may contact the Democratic Party of Arkansas at (501) 374-2361 or by email to dhupp@arkdems.org.
