HOPE, AR-Police in Hope have made an arrest in an investigation of numerous burlaries and cases of arson.

On Thursday, 18-year-old Charles Hawthorne was arrested and charged.

Hawthorne is alleged to have broken into several community centers, and starting three fires.

He is also facing a theft charge.

Hawthorne’s charges were for the following incidents:

  • Arson at Bruner Ivory Handle Mill reported on 12/11/2012

  • Commercial Burglary at North Side Park Community Center reported on 01/29/2013

  • Commercial Burglary and Theft of Property at Garland Learning Center reported on 02/19/2013

  • Commercial Burglary and Theft of Property at Garland Learning Center reported on 02/23/2013

  • A Residential Burglary reported on 02/25/2013

  • Commercial Burglary and Theft of Property at Garland Learning Center reported on 02/26/2013

  • Arson at Fink and Company reported on 03/05/2013

  • Commercial Burglary and Theft of Property at Ladycat Softball Concession reported on 04/25/13

  • Criminal Mischief 1st Degree at Ladycat Softnball Concession reported on 04/28/2013

  • Arson at North Side Park Community Center reported on 05/02/2013

Investigations into these incidents are still ongoing.
