HOPE, AR – A local woman is jailed on theft charges after being accused of embezzling more than $25,000 from her employer.
Heather Langston, 27, was arrested Friday morning by detectives from the Hope Police Department (HPD).
Police say the charges are the result of an ongoing investigation into an embezzlement reported to the Hope Police Department in October of 2014 by the Texas Book Company Book Store located in the 2500 block of South Main Street, on the University of Arkansas Community College campus.
Langston was escorted to the Hempstead County Detention Facility where she was charged and held until she could receive a first appearance before a judge.
The HPD says the investigation is not yet over and more arrests are expected.
