GARLAND CITY, AR – In Miller County a house fire has claimed the life of a Garland City man.
It happened early Sunday on Martin Luther King Boulevard.
People nearby tried to save the man but said there was nothing they could do.
“There was a lot of smoke and we could see flames. I went around the back of the house to kick the door in but fire fighters said it was too dangerous to get back,” said Lee Tarkington, a Garland City resident.
Officials say the man’s body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to be positively ID’d.
