LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- A Southwest Little Rock home was shot up early Sunday morning while children were sleeping inside.
It happened on Rolling Lane around 1:20 in the morning. The children’s mother, Gloria Valenzuela, was not home when the shooting happened. Valenzuela says she was at a friend’s place, but came home to police at her house.
“Neighbors say somebody rolled up, parked outside [right there] in the driveway, and started shooting at the house,” says Valenzuela.
Several bullet holes pierced the home’s front window, just feet from the room where her kids slept. Police also found six 9 mm shell casings in the street in front of the driveway.
Valenzuela says the shots woke the children up. “They thought it was thunder. That’s the best way they can describe it.”
Police say they rarely get calls of this nature in the neighborhood. Valenzuela says she doesn’t have problems with anyone and doesn’t know who would do this, but she plans to continue living there.
No one was hurt in the shooting.
Police haven’t made any arrests yet.
A witness told police it was a light, possibly grey Chevy Suburban type vehicle that the shots came from. If you have any information give police a call.
