“If You Don’t Shoot Me, I Will Shoot You,” Police Arrest Rogers Man Who Shot at Officers

ROGERS, AR (KNWA) – A Rogers man faces multiple charges after firing a gun at police.

Allen Lee Davison, 52, was arrested on December 4 on drug and firearms charges. Police responded to 1623 East New Hope Road on a reported disturbance.

While standing outside the front door, officers heard “multiple loud but muffled cracking noises,” but none believed it was gunfire. Then they heard two louder noises which were recognized as gunfire.

According to police, Davison started yelling at them from a second floor window, telling them, “If you don’t shoot me, I will shoot you.”

Davison did not appear to have a gun, so the officers began talking to him, trying to get him to surrender. A short time later Davison came out of the house and walked towards the officers with “a clenched fist and a combative stance.”

Seeing that Davison was not armed, officers put away their own weapons and drew their tasers, pointing them at Davison.

Davison was taken into custody without further incident.

Inside the home, police say they found a .22 caliber rifle and several marijuana plants. They also found the round Davinson had fired in the wall in front of the porch where the officers had been standing.

Davison is being held on $200,000 bond.
