LITTLE ROCK, AR– Vilonia High took on Sylvan Hills Thursday night and the rain did not faze supporters, despite the schedule change. Earlier this week, school leader changed game times, hoping to beat the expected bad weather on Friday.
Some parents say the plan worked.
“I guess it was better today than tomorrow,” said Vilonia parent Staphnie Conway.
But other parents have a different opinion.
“I don’t think it helped. But hey we are here,” said Vilonia parent Pam James.
As for the kids, the weather is just another memory for their high school scrapbooks.
“I’m excited. This is my first senior game of the year. We had a blue and white game last week. But this is the first official game and it’s raining. And it’s exciting because I’ve never cheered in the rain before,” said Sylvan Hills cheerleader Constance Smith.
