TEXARKANA, AR – A Jacksonville man is back behind bars in Texarkana after a brief escape.
Authorities say Cleophus Martin, 44, left his work release assignment at the Cattleman’s Steak House around 5:30 p.m. Monday. Police say he left with another person in a stolen 2015 white Hyundai Sonata. The car was a rental from Hertz that was being used by a restaurant employee.
Martin was recaptured and taken back to jail by shortly before midnight, according to state officials.
He was serving a 10-year sentence for a 2006 aggravated robbery conviction.
