LITTLE ROCK, AR – The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) says there will be no charges filed after deputies were called to a rehab facility where a resident had been reported injured.
It happened Wednesday around 7 p.m. at the Oasis Renewal Center in western Pulaski County.
According to a PCSO incident report, the clinical director had called authorities after they suspected that resident Jermain Taylor had hit another resident.
Taylor, the professional boxer from North Little Rock, has been undergoing treatment at the facility after a pair of arrests in August and January for which court cases are still pending.
Facility staff told police the injured resident was found on a hallway floor by another resident, who reported that he saw Taylor standing nearby. He told deputies he only heard the injured man fall but that he did not see anyone hit him. He added that he heard Taylor say something to the man on the floor about why he kept bothering him. The incident report states that both Taylor and the third resident alerted staff to the man on the floor.
The injured resident was taken to a hospital emergency room, but there was no word on what type of injury he had.
The PCSO says that at the hospital it was determined that the injured man had no memory of the incident and couldn’t say who allegedly hit him, therefore, no arrest was made.
