LITTLE ROCK, AR — Jury selection is under way for the retrial of a former Little Rock Police officer charged with manslaughter.

The first trial for Josh Hastings ended in a mistrial after the jury failed to reach a verdict back in June.

Hastings was fired from the Little Rock Police Department after shooting 15-year-old Bobby Moore in Sept. 2012.

The former LRPD officer was investigating reported car burglaries in September, when he says Moore started driving toward him, so he fired at the suspect to protect himself.

Police later said evidence showed that Moore had the car in reverse, and was driving away from Hastings when he opened fire.
