Latinos with Arkansas United Protest Trump’s Arkansas Visit

HOT SPRINGS, AR – The signs–in both English and Spanish–some large enough for the world to see.

Latino ralliers sent a message to Presidential Candidate Donald Trump as he visited Hot Springs during a campaign stop.

“His mentality is not welcome here in the state,” said Humberto Marquez , referring to Trump’s remarks about the Mexican population in the US–saying, “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best.”

“It was a slap in the face,” said retired Army Staff Sgt. Emanuel Alveraz who said the man trying to run the country he’s fought for is verbally assaulting his team.

“An insult to my service, an insult to my brothers who I lost who many were Hispanic in Iraq.”

As Trump visits several states during his campaign, these Latinos are hoping he revisits his stance on immigration.

“We are contributing to society more than hurting it,” said Umberto Marquez with Arkansas United.

“We bled for this country, we fought for this country and we deserve a little more respect,” said Alvarez.
