GREENLAND, AR (KNWA/FOX24) – A former Washington County Detective’s wife called 911 Thursday April 23 to report an assault. You can listen to a portion of the 911 call, above.

Former Washington County Detective Steven Hulsey was booked into the Washington County Detention center Monday afternoon on charges of Aggravated Asssault, 2nd degree Domestic Battery, Terroristic Threatening and False Imprisonment.

On Thursday, April 23, Hulsey’s ex-wife told police she and Hulsey got into an argument at their home, and Hulsey choked her until she blacked out. When she woke up, she called 911. She told police as she left the bedroom she saw Hulsey go into the master bedroom and lock the door.

Police say they could see visible bruising and markings on the victim’s neck that were consistent with strangulation.

Steven Hulsey bonded out Monday on a $5,000 bond.
