LITTLE ROCK, AR — Ruthann Owens says she’s happy to be able to walk. The 16-year-old admits everyday since the accident has been a challenge.

The Central High School student says she was outside her Jones Street home back in January when she was hit from behind. The driver of a champagne-colored Buick took off, leaving her on the side of the road.

The teen suffered broken bones to her body and face. Owens was wheelchair-bound for several weeks. Since then, the teen says she’s had trouble sleeping knowing this heartless driver is still on the road.

“If they catch the guy, I’d be able to sleep at night. I’d be able to eat meals like I used to everyday,” says Owens.

Little Rock Police are urging anyone with information on this hit and run to contact them.
