BENTON, AR (News release) – A Benton man is being charged with kidnapping and several other charges after police say he kidnapped a female victim.

On May 9th, at approximately 8:30 a.m., officers from the Benton Police Department responded to an address on Fifth Street on report of a disturbance. When officers arrived they made contact with two victims who said a suspect kidnapped one of them and caused physical harm to both of them.

A female victim in the incident told police that the suspect, identified as David Ogden, 30, kidnapped and held her at knife point for a number of hours. She said he refused to allow her to call for help and made threats to harm her during the ordeal. A male victim in the case came to check on the female victim when he was confronted by Ogden and received minor physical injuries as a result. Ogden fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival on-scene.

According to police, attempts to find Ogden during the initial call were unsuccessful, therefore officers obtained a warrant for his arrest. Ogden was located on Monday morning and taken into custody.

Ogden is charged with Kidnapping, Aggravated Residential Burglary, Domestic Battery 2nd Degree, Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threatening, Domestic Battery 3rd Degree, and Interference with Emergency Communications. Ogden was already on our most wanted list for other warrant charges and with this being an on-going investigation he could face additional charges as it proceeds.
